Axa has launched a new product for freight companies at a conference for insurance intermediaries in Dubai.
Logistics Secure is a package of insurance services for companies carrying cargo, which includes insurance for the cargo itself, cargo-related liabilities, property, compensation for workmen and employer's liabilities.
It is aimed to suit the needs of firms in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and, according to the company, has been created because of the growing number of freight companies in the GCC market.
Axa also used the summit to announce an update to its online Net Cargo system, which has had a number of new features added.
According to the company, it allows intermediaries and customers to deal with cargo insurance from their own computers, without the need for large amounts of assistance from the insurer.
However, it still fulfils all the necessary documentary requirements for auditing purposes.
Axa's Gulf division has more than 250,000 customers, 580 employees and 12 offices in the Middle East region.
