Barclaycard has launched four new credit cards to ensure that its 1.7 million newly-acquired customers will receive the same benefits as under their former provider.
The financial services firm has begun transferring its new customers from previous provider, Discover Financial Services, which Barclaycard acquired earlier this year for £35 million.
Barclaycard's decision to ensure a smooth transition is likely to help its marketing communications and branding with new customers, which transferred from the former Goldfish brand.
Amer Sajed, managing director of UK cards at Barclaycard, said: "The card portfolio we acquired included one of the best known rewards schemes in the UK.
"It is one of the first things which comes to mind when you think of Goldfish and we wanted to take advantage of this heritage and build upon it to create a range of products to meet the expectations of our new customers."
A phased implementation will be introduced from September 22nd to ensure that the new cards go live with as few problems as possible.
