Insurance comparison site Gocompare.com has used its second 'birthday' to highlight its success in the car insurance sector.
The company began life on November 6th 2006 and cited independent research to show that it is now the premier car insurance comparison site, based on the fact that it has more brands than any of its competitors.
Using the milestone to highlight some of its statistics, it explained that it had provided 11.6 million quotes which resulted in savings of £234.87 for each customer on their renewal quotes.
Some £270 million would have been saved on insurance premiums if one in ten of Gocompare.com visitors had switched insurance services provider as a result of using the service, the company claimed.
"We aim to provide a clear and transparent service for our customers that will ultimately help them to find the right cover at the right price," said founder and chief executive Hayley Parsons.
"We're two years old and the number one comparison service for car insurance. That's the best birthday present we could have wished for."
