Airmiles and has joined forces with Lloyds TSB to launch a loyalty card that will be available from June 1st.
The marketing campaign in support of the launch will include TV, radio and press. Although no details for the marketing spend are available, Airmiles spent £10 million last year.
The new Duo Card Account offers customers double the current airmile earn-rate and will increase their earn-rate to up to one airmile for every £10 spent. The account will also provide one rate, PIN number and statement, as well as no annual fee.
Director of marketing and insight Sarah Wood told Marketing Week: "The deal will match two brands and we will be working in other ways to gain customers in the coming months."
Until last May, NatWest had been Airmiles' partner. The company now plans to contact all NatWest airmiles customers with details of the new offer through direct marketing over the next few days.
Airmiles has said that customers who return their application form by May 31st will be entered into a draw to win 10,000 miles.
