Barclaycard has launched a new credit card marketed directly at London's commuters, as it can be used as an Oyster travelcard as well as to make payments.
The new card will be called Barclaycard OnePulse and was designed by creative design agency Kino Design and is being marketed as "the only card a Londoner needs".
Barclaycard are really pushing the convenience of the card, since as well as doubling up as a travelcard, OnePulse can be used to make small value purchases instead of commuters having to carry cash around.
Although it can be used as a standard chip and Pin credit card for, for items of less than £10 in value, cardholders will simply be able to touch their card against a reader without having to enter their Pin.
Although the new card will not launch until September, Barclaycard has already got its advertising campaign underway and has created a pre-registration website, which features information on the new product and details of how to register to apply for the new card.
Elizabeth Chambers, Barclaycard Chief Marketing Officer says: "London is a fast paced, dynamic city that is always looking to the future. We wanted a brand name that conveyed the sense of energy that runs through the city whilst at the same time highlighting the card's unique three-in-one feature.
"We believe Barclaycard OnePulse is the future of payments in London and hope as many Londoners as possible enjoy the benefits when it is rolled out in the autumn."
