Firms can increase their competitive advantage in the employment market by offering a generous pensions package, according to an industry experts.
However, pension providers may well need a marketing services boost themselves to bolter their efforts to encourage take-up of their company pension schemes.
A survey by the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) conducted in March 2008 claimed that a workplace pension is considered the most important employee benefit.
Nearly half (49 per cent) of those polled claimed that they would feel a greater loyalty to their company if a workplace pension was offered.
Spokesperson for the NAPF, Mark Brooks, notes that generous pension arrangements can also offer a competitive recruitment advantage for firms.
He said: "Those companies offering generous pension arrangements may find that they have a competitive advantage when it comes to recruitment.
Meanwhile, NAPF research also suggests that as many as 39 per cent of those polled were more loyal because they had a workplace pension.
