PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been ranked seventh in the Top 50 list of Best Brands of British Origin, compiled by Brand Finance.
The accountancy giant was the highest-ranking professional services firm in the list, with rivals Deloitte, KPMG and Ernst & Young also finishing in the top 20.
Vodafone, Orange and Tesco made up the first three positions in the list, but PwC was quick to point out that it had finished above brands as powerful as the BBC, M&S and Virgin.
"We are delighted to receive this recognition and to be ranked alongside so many classic British brands is particularly satisfying," said Ian Powell, chairman and senior partner.
"It is testament to the strength and reach of our clients, the talents of our people and the contribution that we make to the wider community."
PwC has also announced that it will still be taking on large numbers of graduates this year, despite the recession and general economic gloom surrounding the financial services industry.
