A retail stockbroker has had the chance to showcase its business after winning an accolade at the 2008 Shares Magazine Awards.
The Share Centre won the prize for Best Execution-only Broker, which was voted for by readers of the magazine and aims to reward the broker with the best financial services.
Entrants were judged on a variety of factors, including price, the functionality of their website, their customer service and any other valuable extras they offer such as advice or research.
The ceremony gave the chance for the company's director, Guy Knight, to extol the virtues of his firm.
He said: "We are delighted to have won the Award for Best Execution-only Broker as it recognises the totality of our offering and its relevance to today's private investor.
"We believe in more people enjoying straightforward investing, and work hard to simplify the investing process, whether it is over the phone or online."
Richard Collins, MSM Media sales director, pointed out that the real value in the magazine's awards is that they are voted for by readers.
