Ringo Starr is set to appear in major new insurance marketing campaign Norwich Union, which is changing its name to Aviva.
The former Beatle will star alongside Bruce Willis, Elle Macpherson and Alice Cooper in the £10 million television advertising campaign which launches on Boxing Day.
Featuring famous faces who have changed their birth names, the ads centre on the idea that the celebrities might have missed out on fame and fortune had they not revamped their given names.
Norwich Union, which currently operates in more than 20 global markets, will officially rebrand to Aviva in June 2009. The television ads will also be supported by a six-month press, outdoor and digital campaign.
Amanda McKenzie, the firm's chief marketing officer, said: "As our business becomes increasingly global we need one name customers can recognise wherever they are.
"We have to bring Norwich Union's customers with us - people have to know they will get everything they got before and more."
