The Skandia brand is set to appear heavily at some of the world's most illustrious golf tournaments, after the company became the official sponsor of the 2009 Senior Open Championship.
Skandia made the financial services marketing decision after conducting research which indicated that advisers want the firm to boost its branding, in order to help sales.
The firm will now be able to raise its brand awareness at the Senior Open Championship at Sunningdale Golf Club in July.
"We are very excited to be involved with both of these events for the first time," said Jo Gilbey, head of advertising for Skandia.
"Skandia's participation builds on our broadcast sponsorship of golf on Sky, which started in April, and will increase awareness of the Skandia brand amongst existing and potential customers."
The Senior Tour features some of the top older players in the world, including Welshman Ian Woosnam and England's Nick Faldo.
