Zurich has simplified its online application system to encourage more advisers to do business with the company.
It is the second part of a drive to attract more advisers to the financial services company, after launching its online interactive underwriting system earlier in 2008.
Advisers will no longer be required to answer family history and some personal medical questions for their clients.
"This enhancement comes at a time when mortgage advisers are increasingly looking for other opportunities aside from traditional mortgage business," said Zurich's protection management director for UK life, Peter Hamilton.
"We believe by simplifying the underwriting process and making it easier for advisers to receive an immediate underwriting decision at the point of application, we will encourage more advisers to consider writing protection business in the future."
However, the new development will only be available for plans which come to an end before the client reaches the age of 55.
