Digbeth-based marketing agency M Consulting has moved to a purpose built office in the plush new creative and digital industries centre, Fazeley Studios.
Previously based in The Bond, M Consulting has been located in Digbeth since it was first established fifteen years ago by Steve Manton. Steve had worked in insurance for 30 years when he saw a gap in the market for a full service marketing agency with a deep knowledge of the financial and professional services sectors.
From their Birmingham headquarters and a satellite office in Fenchurch Avenue in the heart of the city of London, the company now employs 20 staff and services clients across the UK. According to Steve Manton, the office upgrade will play a key role in the company’s next phase of growth.
Steve Manton, CEO, says: “Our philosophy is to really get under the skin of our clients and understand the issues that affect their business and their industry. As a result we are winning new clients and receiving enquiries at an increasing rate.
“Our national clients see benefits to employing a firm based in Birmingham. Our overheads are lower than London based firms, so we can charge competitive fees. Also, many of our clients love coming to another city and Birmingham is very central and accessible. They particularly enjoy the gritty urban charm of Digbeth and the contrast it provides to their own working environment.
“When I worked in insurance I loved visiting my advertising agency because their studio lived and breathed creativity. The atmosphere was conducive to generating ideas and it gave me faith in their passion for their work. This is what we have always tried to create for M Consulting. We believe the move to Fazeley Studios will inspire our staff and clients and provide them with the surroundings that reflect our creativity and success. Some staff members have said they will never want to go home, which is music to my ears as a director.”
Clients of M Consulting range from Birmingham-based law firm Anthony Collins and Midlands-law firm Spratt Endicott to Comet Replacement Services, national law-firm Moore Blatch Resolve, Lloyd’s insurer Novae Group PLC and Stratford-based NFU Mutual. As part of its future growth, the company plans to expand its client base in Birmingham’s central business district and to branch out into new sectors such as technology, media and entertainment.
M Consulting’s new office is a showcase 3000 sq ft studio at Fazeley Studios with north facing windows and a view of the landscaped courtyard.
Fazeley Studios is Birmingham’s new £7 million, 1.25 acre home for the creative and digital industries. Officially launched in February, the development is already 60 percent full with creatives working in marketing, PR, design, film, modelling, podcasting and photography, along with the illustrious Ikon Eastside gallery.
